The cornea is the clear, dome-shaped surface that covers the front of the eye. It plays a vital role in focusing light as it enters the eye. If the cornea loses its clarity or shape—whether from infection, genetics, or trauma—images can become blurred, distorted, or completely hidden. At Ranade Eye Centre, we focus on both the medical management of corneal diseases and the precise surgical restoration of the corneal surface.
From advanced retinal imaging to precise vision testing, we provide a full spectrum of assessments tailored to your age.
Our technology-driven screenings help detect glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic.
Our optometrists and ophthalmologists work closely with your healthcare providers to create treatment plans.
Regular follow-ups and 24/7 emergency care access for patients with progressive eye conditions ensure peace.
Phase 1: Specialized Assessment
Your journey starts with a detailed corneal check-up, including topography and cell counts, to determine which layers of your cornea need treatment.
Phase 2: The Procedure
Surgeries are performed in our sterile, NABH-certified operating rooms. Depending on the technique (DSEK, DALK, or PK), the procedure is carried out with extreme precision under local or general anesthesia.
Phase 3: Gradual Restoration
While “partial” transplants (DSEK/DALK) offer faster recovery, all corneal procedures involve a healing period where vision gradually clears as the new tissue integrates and the swelling goes down.
If you notice any of the following signs, a specialized corneal evaluation at our Thane facility is recommended:
– Significant blurring, cloudiness, or a “steamy” appearance to your vision.
– Persistent pain, redness, or a constant “foreign body” sensation in the eye.
– Extreme sensitivity to light (photophobia) that interferes with daily activities.
– Sudden decrease in vision accompanied by redness or discharge.
– With precision, dedication, and empathy, we focus on protecting and improving your vision so you can focus on living life with clarity and confidence.
Most adults should have an eye exam every 1–2 years, even if you don’t wear glasses. Children, seniors, or anyone with existing eye conditions may need more frequent checkups.
